Bay Area Earthquake

One of the natural calamities which can take away lot of life is Earthquake. It’s a modern world and there are many instruments which have been invented which detect the occurrence of earthquake well before it hits an area.

Earth quake analysis is a detailed study and requires lot of hard work and dedication. Studies show that earthquakes are common in bay area. High alert has been issued on almost all the bay areas across the world. An earthquake is termed as major if the moment magnitude is above 6. Anything which reads below 6 is a minor earthquake. There are many working groups across each and every country to analyze and evaluate the probability of large earthquakes in bay areas.

There are many reports which say that underwater earthquakes are very common and because of that tremors were felt in the bay area. If the quake is 1 mile below the surface then there wont be serious damage, however if the underwater magnitude is above 6 then there is good chance of the bay area getting affected. Each and every country had made it mandatory to have cost guard and also police patrol in the bay areas.

San Francisco experienced some of the major and destructive earthquakes in 1838, 1868, 1906 and 1989. There was no clear evidence of to why these earthquakes occurred. Japan is another country which experiences the major number of earthquakes for a year. Government has issued appropriate steps to be followed and it is advised for an each and individual to abide by those rules.
